Account name inquiry
Let the card issuer check the cardholder name when your customer stores a card for one-click or recurring payments.
Account Name Inquiry (ANI) checks whether the cardholder name your customer enters matches the name the issuer has on file. Mastercard calls it Account Name Validation.
When ANI applies
ANI runs automatically when all of these apply to the first transaction of one-click payments or recurring payments:
- The
amountis0. - Your customer pays with a Visa or Mastercard card.

Cardholder name
On the hosted payment page, your customer enters the cardholder name. In your own checkout, send it as name when you store the card in the vault. Apple Pay and Google Pay payments don't have a cardholder name.
Check the result
When the first transaction has been processed, retrieve the order.
The result is in the ani_results of the transaction's payment_method_details.
